Wagering requirements: how rollover decides what a bonus is worth

Almost every casino bonus comes with a wagering requirement — also called rollover or playthrough. It is the number of times you must stake the bonus (or the bonus plus deposit) before the bonus and its winnings can be withdrawn. It is the single most important figure in any offer, and the one most banners leave out. We cannot tell you the multiplier attached to Fortunazo's current offers; this page explains how wagering works so you can calculate it yourself from the terms.

How wagering works in practice

The requirement is a multiplier applied to a base. If the base is the bonus alone, the maths is lighter; if the base is deposit plus bonus, it can double. A hypothetical example: a 100-unit bonus with a 30x requirement on the bonus means 3,000 units of qualifying bets. With 30x on a 100-unit deposit plus 100-unit bonus, it becomes 6,000. These figures are illustrative, not Fortunazo's terms. Note that wagering counts the amount bet, not the amount lost: a 10-unit bet that wins still adds 10 units to your progress.

Game contribution

Not every game counts fully. A typical contribution table gives slots 100%, while table games and live dealer games count partly or not at all, and some slots or features may be excluded while a bonus is active. If live blackjack counts 10%, a 10-unit hand adds only 1 unit to your progress — meaning a table player needs ten times more play than a slot player to clear the same requirement. This is the main reason we advise live-table fans to read bonus terms twice; our live casino guide covers the games themselves.

Time limit

Every requirement has a deadline. When it passes, the remaining bonus balance and the winnings tied to it are usually removed. A large requirement with a short time limit can force a betting pace you would never choose otherwise — a sign to skip the offer.

Tracking your bonus balance

Most accounts show a progress bar or a "remaining to wager" figure, and separate the cash balance from the bonus balance. Check it after your first few bets to confirm that the games you play are counting as expected. On a phone, this information is often two or three taps deep in the account menu; take a screenshot at the start and periodically, so you have a record if something looks wrong.

Mistakes that void a bonus

All of these are covered in the general bonus terms. An honest summary: wagering is not a trick, but it is a cost. If it does not fit how and how much you play, playing without a bonus is the better deal.
